At Paramount, we start by feeding our dame and sire a complete and purposeful diet.  When we say "complete diet", we don't take that lightly. We use both a natural and scientific approach by feeding organically.

Benefits of Organic Pasture Raised Chicken - Roughly 90 percent of all chicken meat and eggs sold in the United States come from concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs). Chickens raised in CAFOs are continuously injected with low dosages of antibiotics. Over time, this leads to antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

• Contains more vitamin A: Pasture-raised chicken contains 50% more vitamin A compared to conventionally raised chicken. This nutrient plays an important role in supporting good vision, cell division and growth, a strong immune system and skin health

• Rich in omega-3 fats: In a 2008 study published in the journal Poultry Science, Portuguese researchers discovered that pasture-raised chicken has significantly higher amounts of omega-3 fatty acids than chickens that do not have access to fresh forage.

• Environmentally friendly: CAFOs are known for the large amounts of toxic byproducts they generate.

• Has a lower risk of food-borne illnesses: CAFO chickens have a gained a negative reputation because they’re associated with food-borne illnesses caused by unsanitary farming conditions. Pasture-raised chicken can help reduce the chance of developing such illnesses because they are cleaner and healthier.

• Produce high-quality eggs: Eggs from pastured chicken typically contains three times more vitamin E, two times more omega-3, seven times more beta-carotene and one-third less cholesterol than eggs harvested from conventionally raised chicken.

Benefits of Vegetables - Rich in a host of useful nutrients and powerful antioxidants, vegetables deliver ample amounts of vitamins including folate, vitamin A, K and vitamin B6, as well as carotenoids like beta-carotene from carrots, lycopene from tomatoes, zeaxanthin from green veggies, and lutein from spinach and collard greens. Salad greens are packed with important nutrients and phytochemicals that support the maximum benefit to our puppies daily nutrient requirement during the developmental stage.

Benefit of Eggs - Both the white and yolk of an egg are rich in nutrients - high quality proteins, vitamins and minerals with the yolk also containing cholesterol, fat soluble vitamins and essential fatty acids. Eggs are rich sources of selenium, vitamin D, B6, B12 and minerals such as zinc, iron and copper. Egg yolks are a source of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K and lecithin. They also contain omega-3 fatty acids, depending on what the chickens have been fed. Eggs are regarded a 'complete' source of protein as they contain all nine essential amino acids; Pups cannot synthesize and must obtain from their diet.
